Hey everyone,

How was your weekend? Anyone have any dates to report?

My weekend was super busy for the first half and then moderately busy for the second.

~~~
On Saturday I had errands, work, lunch with a friend, then I used a gift certificate I'd gotten for a spa treatment then I drove out to a friend's house for a BBQ celebrating her birthday, then stopped at another friend's for a brief visit and to return a hard drive I had borrowed from him, then home to get ready for a date Saturday night, which was good.
Next day I had a workout with my trainer at the gym, more errands, grocery shopping, laundry and housework...also managed to squeeze in a nice long bike ride.
I'm tired, ready for another weekend already!
~~~

How about you? How was your weekend! Tell us all about it

Confirmed 4th bad consecutive online dating experience. Last weekend was great, this weekend everything crashed and burned out of nowhere.

Does my date with my daughter count?

Best date I've had in years. Went to the movies and everything!

One date that lasted a couple of hours. Was nice, but I'm anxious for more.

Way too much time on OKC. Answering those stupid questions is addicting. I'm telling myself the questions are helping me figure out what I do want in a partner, though. Sort of.

Friday night, I drove to Memphis. I slept over at my friend W.'s house, and the next morning we woke up early for the Cooper-Young street festival. We made chocolate chip waffles with pecan-pumpkin spread, then went out to the festival, walked all around it twice, saw a ton of people W. knew, and then hung out at W's friends' house (with a bunch of folks I knew) for the rest of the afternoon. Tons of end-of-summer/beginning-of-fall fun.

Didn't do anything interesting Sunday except recover from the previous day and drive home.

But today I saw I got a message on OkCupid from a really cute guy who matches me 87%. So, yay! I'm going to write him back tonight.

Astro, here's what I have discovered, in brief, so see if this helps:
- when I'm admiring a trait that's different from me in someone else, it's a characteristic I want for myself and don't have;
- when I'm admiring a trait that's similar to me in someone else, it's a trait of mine that I am happy with.

Ultimately I feel I've evolved enough and have done enough self-discovery that I'm looking for someone like me in basic, core personality traits. The differences that "the other" brings to the table then make life more interesting.

Not my best, most thought-out answer of all time, but I hope it at least makes some sense, at best might even help.

For myself, Friday night started Yom Kippur, a Jewish holiday I use for reflection of the last year and planning for the next. Well, it spilled over into Sunday, which I spent by the river on a spectacular day, discovered that my life, which I thought was off course was actually on course after all (gee, that felt good!), and yet more reflection took over today, too.

Ok, so while that may sound "heavy" I did get to flirt with a pretty lady at a table next to me, as one of my two river venues was at an outside bar. No ring on her finger; why didn't I ask for a phone number when she left?

Cancelled eHa after about a year and a half. Very frustrating when you live in a rural area but so is dating IRL here. So much of my life is excedingly awesome - don't think I've ever said those words together - buuut there's gotta be a 10 to 1 ratio in women's favor up here in the mountains.

How can I lure potential dates to my mountain cabin? No, that doesn't sound right at all!

Well.....went out with my girlfriend to a club and did some dancing. Wow! That felt great! I love to dance, but hadn't done it in awhile.

Have still been communicating with the nice guy I met for a couple of drinks the previous Sunday evening. He is New Orleans for work this week, but said he would like to get together again. So......I'm hoping that works out and happens.

Nobody else I am interested in right now. We'll see. I'm tired of trying different dating sites. Lol, I have only tried two. It just has seemed like too much work. I have heard all about OKCupid, but darn that sounds like a lot of work.

You didn't happen to see a young man around 22 acting a fool? He looks a bit like me and has been known to sport facial hair. It was also reported that he was quite drunk as well.

Yeah apparently my son was down there as well.

Troy and I bought his and hers bikes and went riding. At the moment I am trying to convince my two youngest that riding bikes is a heck of a lot more fun than friends or video games. They aren't buying it so I guess we are just throwing them in the car next weekend and telling them tough, thats life.
