Went dog shopping at 5 shelters this weekend. After losing 2 dogs in 18 months I have decided that having a dog makes me happy. Life is short, so I shouldn't put off doing things that make me happy. Summer was ok. Garden burned up in the hot sun, didn't take enough time off, had a great trip to NC to see nieces and nephews, had several dates including what might have been the best first date in history that sort of poofed when he decided to try again with his ex. Life meanders on...

Went to a poker party/bbq/pot luck thing.

Lost $15

My best summer memory is of going to the Scottish Highland games for the first time with a guy I had been dating. I brought all kinds of healthy food for us to snack on throughout the day. Listened to some awesome Scottish bands and drank some Guinness. After the games were over we went down to the beach and ate dinner at a great restaurant. I brought beach chairs so after dinner we sat by the ocean & kissed for hours. One of the best dates I've ever had.

My dating life this summer was pretty X-rated but not really going where I want it to, ultimately. Oh, well.

This weekend was a bit tame--I almost went out on the town with a bunch of friends, but instead I rediscovered that my sister is an introvert, and we stayed at home & watched movies and anime. Sigh. Love her, but I love to hit the town, too! ...Well, we had fun, anyway (just a different sort), and tomorrow she flies home.

Ah, the joys & trials of family!

Have been sleeping most of the weekend. It's been cold outside, raining and quite windy so not worth going out.

Same here except no lawn. (However, the wildflowers out back are pretty overgrown!)

I actually made it to OC this weekend with a local match! First time that's happened since last summer. (Smiley face for getting to OC, not for it taking a year!)

Summer is a time to look forward to making memories then realizing it's over and you're not sure if you did anything memorable.

Best date - 2nd date, on the river with no one around, lawn chairs, bottle of wine and played truth or dare. Too far to drive home that night so it just kept getting better. Then I had to go home and I think he forgot how wonderful I was. Dang!
