Hi. I created a thread before about different expectations about the practices of ladies first. I was not happy when Mr. Avocado (the name given by PY) did not open the doors or got into the elevator first, leaving me behind (awkward eye contact facing each other wondering why another person is there.....).

But he somehow learned the door-opening practice at this time. I realize I did not open any doors. It's not that we had any discussions, but he may have somehow learned it. The doors were wooden heavy ones so that his help was really appreciated.

He's generally a sensitive, considerate person and treats me really well. When I was not feeling well, not only he was happy to change the meeting place into my neighborhood, but also sent me an email saying my health was a lot more important than the meeting. At this time, I could meet only for a short time because of my health. When I looked at the watch, he asked me if we were ready to go. That's very sensitive and caring.

It's just not ladies first, but more consistent respect and warm care in general. It's not that he's making himself look manly or sophisticated by doing these. There's something more genuine about it. He does not shower me with compliments at all, but consistently respectful and caring.

We've been proceeding so extremely slowly. But so far, so good. I think PY2's advice that I should not overthink was helpful.
