I recently started seeing my ex's current roommate... Despite all logic and common sense it would seem.

I have to admit I've done some relationship-related things I thought better of afterward: like quitting my job and moving from Albuquerque to Greensboro to move in with a woman. It was after I moved in that we discovered we weren't compatible enough to live together.
One of life's learning moments.

OK, one condensed dating horror story....

It was a dark and stormy night.... Well, dark, but not stormy. He was huge and poorly dressed, I'm sure his hair wasn't combed either. We talked, he asked questions. After answering one he got angry. Not just upset, but angry. He yelled, he ranted, he got drunk. I was saved by a couple of pool playing short order cooks. Ah, yes, fun night.

It was a lovely early spring day.
We were to meet at Starbucks for coffee, my usual place for first meetings.
I said I'd be in a daffodil yellow sweater.
He asked what a daffodil was.
I said it was a bulb plant that was in bloom right now-you know the yellow ones.
He said They make me sneeze.
I said thats probably Forsythia not daffodils, but the color is right.

Settling the color of sweater *I* would be in, I askes what he would be wearing.

His leathers.
Leathers? Like a jacker or coat?
Leathers-like a biker outfit including chaps and jacket.

My mind went to thoughts of Easy Rider, Sturgis and other biker stuff.

OK fine.

He parked his....pickup truck in front of Starbucks and walked in, gloriously attired in wife beater ripped shirt with major amounts of profanity on the front, dirty leather coat and embarrassing looking chaps which outlined his below the waist area (I wasn't sure Cro--tch would be allowed here so I hope you get the mental image)

He stank.

He said..Lets blow this joint babe. He picked up a coffee cup from the next table and spat chaw into it.

I declined and went home to weed the garden, sighing a sigh of relief.

Hi, newbies! I'm an oldster and a former VCL, but just wanted to step in to welcome the new folks and encourage more of you to post.

Andie - I think it's a great idea to have a thread focused on newer (or infrequent) posters! Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming to step in and post in threads where the "regulars" are actively chatting away.
