I'm going to go with an interpretation completely the opposite of the gals warning you away from this one.

The caveat is, of course, I could be wrong, and you'd really have to have some more communication to figure it out.

I see this as an attempt at "disarming humor". He's acknowledging that yes, he does have a sexual interest in you, but no, he's not going to try to jump on you on the first date.

When inviting a woman to my home for the first time I may make some similar remark, something like, "Oh, I'll probably chase you around the living room a time or two just to be polite; letting yourself be caught is entirely optional!"

Of course, by that time my date already has a pretty good idea that my humor can be sometimes inappropriate.


But it's really just a way of saying "I understand your concern, and please don't worry." At least it would be if I said it to you.

There are so many questions about the logistics and execution of that costume that my brain is sore. Let's just say that it was probably more inviting than my witch king costume.

I wouldn't be too hard on him for the twister comment. Sometimes things sound so much funnier in our heads...
