but this new way to breakup with someone is shocking. Did you see the Today Show this morning?

idump4Udotcom

Seriously? Are we THAT immature of a population? Please tell me this is strictly a teen - early 20s thing and no one over the age of 22 would do this.

I wouldn't be surprised if people over 22 used it.. A girl I know, her bf dumped her on facebook!

The way technology controls these kids these days, basically no real interaction skills.. don't be surprised if this is the norm in ten years!

No, not better than poofing!

Here's what they say (edited to try to avoid the bot):

**** takes the messiness out of any breakup. We collect the information about the person you want to break up with, and do the work for you. Since we have no emotional ties to the person, we can do it as honestly, and truthfully as possible..
Think about it.. Do you want to lie your way into a breakup, only to leave the person vulnerable to make the same mistakes twice, or do you want to educate them on why you broke up with them, so that they can change those personality traits that drove you away?
We are therapy, humanity and comedy all rolled into one!
PRICES:
**10 For A Basic Breakup
So you met some person online or at a club and you had a few good times, and now you want to get rid of them. Or you met someone else and you just want to let your old flame go. That is what the **10 plan does..
**25 For an Engagement Breakup
So you have cold feet? You could skip the country and fake a kidnapping… but look what happened to the “Runaway Bride” it seems like $25 is so much better than thousands of dollars in civil costs..
**50 for a Divorce Call
Sometimes you need someone else to help you start a divorce. We can’t hand your spouse the papers, or legally finalize the divorce, however we can help you get the awkward moment started…

I have had men break up with or "dump" me by text message or email....or poof and then return with the explanatory text message ("let's be friends") many weeks later. I'm talking about men over the age of 40.

I think this is horrible and is ruining the dating landscape. It is creating an environment where people are afraid to truly connect.

All of this speaks to the character of the person and their ability to communicate in an open way. If someone can't talk to me, especially about serious issues, there is no future for the relationship. Makes me wonder, when these people get married, do they text each other when they have problems, or....?

I was reading an issue of "Seventeen" while I was getting my toes done yesterday. In it was an article about "dating post High School". It actually said that poofing is the most common form of break up, since you aren't school having to run into each other every day. Who knew teenage boys break up officially more often than grown men and women for that matter!
