When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised on a date?

What was the surprise? Did it have a positive effect on the longevity of the connection with that person (i.e. did you keep dating them, end up in a relationship, etc.)?

Looking for some HAPPY "war stories" from dating today!

The chef cooked my fish correctly...
oh yeah, and the drinks weren't watered down.

Life is good.

The first time I cooked dinner for my guy at my place, he brought me a single peach rose that he clipped from his garden and put it in a bud vase. I was so shocked when I answered the door and he gave it to me! Cannot even think of another single time where I was given flowers on a date.

The second surprise is when he stopped me from cleaning up afterward. He told me since I did the cooking, he should be the one to clean up and that I should "relax."

From that night I knew he was a keeper. Yes, those acts definitely made me want to continue to date him...and we are now in a relationship.

LOL Thinker! That's a great start - but I was hoping it was something that your date might have done?

The next time I have a date I'll be pleasantly surprised.

]When was the last time you were pleasantly surprised on a date? Last year (I'm like the Energizer Bunny...I can keep going and going and going without dates for a year)

What was the surprise? She showed up.

Did it have a positive effect on the longevity of the connection with that person (i.e. did you keep dating them, end up in a relationship, etc.)? Unrelated. No chemistry, etc. etc. but for the most part it was not too bad. It was cool to be able to go out on a date with a woman!

Hmm...here is one....

His profile was pretty terrible, his photo was somewhat old, his first e-mail was so bad that I almost closed him over it. The first date however....the best date and the most fun date I've ever had in my life. He was hilarious, energetic, intelligent, the chemistry was amazing and yes, it did lead to a relationship.
