Hey everyone!

How was your weekend? Anyone got dates to report?

My weekend was good, pretty mellow overall. Did a kitchen cleanout project, watched some documentaries (one was a screening at the L.A. Film Festival. a documentary about the band, Fishbone - I went with my best friend, it was fun!), worked, went the gym, downloaded some iPad apps (yes I'm addicted, lol)...

We organized spices. I think those really dating are having a bit more fun than I am. Oh, well there was the wineries on Saturday. Okay maybe not so boring.

I'm happy!!!

I had a date this weekend. Or should I say this weekend was a date? lol Result? I am no longer single!

My date flew into the Ottawa airport on Friday evening and he met my parents shortly thereafter - we all went for coffee to Starbucks. It went well. Yay! After we say goodbye to my parents, we wandered around downtown Ottawa and revisited a few places we had gone to the last time he came to visit - last month. Then he dropped me off at home with a promise to pick me up at 9:00 am the next morning.

Saturday was an absolutely wonderful day. He showed up with a map and said, "Where would you like to go? Anywhere within a five hour radius." Decisions, decisions . . . We decided to go to Niagra Falls, where I have never been and which fell at the very outer limit of the five hour radius. The drive out was lovely and the falls were stunning. He had been there, so he got to show me around a part of my country I know nothing about. He's not Canadian . . . We arrived in Niagra Falls around 3:30 pm and left just after 8 pm. The drive home was as wonderful as the drive out. Time well spent in the best company I could imagine.

He picked me up at 10 am Sunday morning and we went to church, which was fantastic. The music, the sermon - it was all very good. After church we decided to take a drive up into the Gatineau Hills just across the border in Quebec. It was beautiful up there. Then we drove back to Ottawa and went to take a look at Hog's Back Falls, which are really quite impressive.

He left this morning and I'm pretty sure right now he's somewhere over western Canada. By tonight he'll be back home south of the border. But it was a lovely weekend and I wouldn't change a moment of it.



And now, because I just can't help myself and it's time I said it . . . my date goes by the name notyet.

My weekend went very well. We hung out Friday at her cousin's (house sitting). Picked up dinner on the way took it to her and we had a nice walk that night and watched some movies. Then Saturday we met up at a friend's house for a surprise party. I was getting ready to leave when she said she wanted to meet them. Talked to them for about an hour setup a double date with them next weekend. Went to a movie and had a wonderful evening. Sunday woke up and she went with me shopping for my daughter's bday and lunch. Hung out a bit a talked about things and I am now in a relationship . The weekend was already great getting to be with her and that just made my day not sure I have stopped smiling yet

My birthday was last weekend....most of my friends were gone (out of country travelling, other plans, etc..). It was kinda sucky, but I think the make up birthday this week (or next week) should be awesome

Happy belated birthday!! I hope your make up birthday is fantastic and truly memorable.
