So I went on a first date with a man off eharmony and we had a great time. At the end of the night he said he would call me soon and he did...in fact he texted me that same night and said he had an amazing time. Well it's been a week and......Nothing. He vaporized. I don't get why men disappear. Any input out there?

Same exact reasons why you would disappear - not enough interest, met someone else that's more interesting, life came up and there is not enough interest in you to continue, etc. Ultimately, who cares why - the end result is the same - you two won't be dating and there is no point in wasting another thought on some guy you've only met once.

Did you reply to his text? Did you try calling or e-mailing him?

The only reason I would not reply or call a women that I thought I liked was if I thought she wasn't interested in me.

So did you not text him back? Analyze what you said to him and see if it comes across as you showing interest.

It happens all of the time... they say they will call, but many cases, the interest is just not there. They might have even had a good time, but after more reflection, or communication with other people... they realize they are not that interested, and would rather disappear than face telling you (they don't really know you and may feel they don't owe you anything, you'll get the hint).

If he liked you and was interested, he would call or at least answer your calls/texts.

If he was just going to poof, he wouldn't have texted you at all. If you didn't respond to his text he figured you're not interested and moved on. That's what I'd do.

If you did respond to his text and he never followed up, then I agree that he wasn't really interested or found someone else more interesting.

There's a million reasons why he hasn't called, but why he hasn't called isn't the question you should be asking yourself. The question you should be asking yourself is, do you want to continue dating someone who hasn't called? Is a week a long enough time to choose to write someone off for not calling or should you give him a little more time before writing him off...

My point here is that you have no control over when he calls and even less control over his reasons for not calling. What you DO have control over is yourself, your boundaries and what you are willing to accept.

How about sending him an email to see what's up.
