I'm stumped based on another thread here. I have listed my body type as "curvy" cause I am curvy, but now I read that many men interpret that as "obese" or "overweight", of which I am neither.

My only choices are curvy, slender, about average, athletic and toned, a few extra pounds or full-figured. I don't consider myself slender - to me, that is a girl without hips or a bustline. I have both. But not chubby. and to me, athletic and toned is my killer personal trainer with a hardcore muscled body To Die For, which again, is not me (yet!)

What do you guys think? here is my current pic and it's also visible on my profile. I don't want to mislead anyone and choose a description that is not accurate. I'm sensitive to being unfairly judged as overweight since I have recently lost weight and gotten myself into good shape!

and this closeup is also visible - shows my collarbones, bare arms, so again emphasizes that I am not chubby:

Let me be the very first to say that you are adorable!

If you say "curvy", you're making a mistake. Not because you don't have curves, and not because curves are bad, but because of the context.

thanks for the compliments!

but should I say athletic/toned then? I'm not 100% in the shape I will be in another two months of hardcore cross-fit training, but maybe that's closer to an accurate description than slender. I see slender as boyish. I do NOT have a boyish figure at all.

If you have visible collarbones, then that's not "Average". I would go with either "Slender" or "Athletic" and then mention "Curves in all the right places".

To me, that's the best of all possible worlds.

Hi Scully98,

I just moved the thread over to the Dating forum since eHarmony doesn’t have a body-type categorizing indicator!

You might want to listen to the guys’ opinions out there, but according to your pics, I would say “average” or “athlete” because those who are searching for someone of your build might not find you otherwise. And then let the pics convey the curviness? But again, I’m not a guy.

Good luck!

I think that slender would be a decent descriptor for online dating.

Curvy is accurate but it may keep you out of many searches due to the laws of probability.

If you aren't comfortable with slender then "about average" would be fitting as well.

Many women that are slender but not as toned as they would like choose "about average".

I laughed so hard that I nearly spit out the apple slices I'm eating.

thanks, kate, and bigfincat. I opted for athletic/toned since my trainer tonight was just commenting on how visible my delts and triceps are. so while I'm not as toned as my own definition of "toned" I think I am more toned than many others.

I'd go with 'about average'. For 'slender' I would expect to see a woman more waif-like than you are... at their ideal weight or slightly underweight. But 'about average' sounds just right to me for you.

By the way, congrats on your success with Crossfit. I go to a CF studio myself and love it. I haven't lost much weight with it, but boy has my strength improved by leaps and bounds!
