On another thread someone made a comment that sounded like putting "curvy" on your profile for figure type means overweight. I thought it meant that you have...you know..nice curves. I am not overweight...I am guessing I should change to slender?

Yes it is code for carrying a few extra pounds. So is full-figured and other euphemisms like that.

That said, I think you should put slender and curvy. If you've got it flaunt it sister!

I always picked curvy because I'm not slender or overwieght- I'm... short and curvy. muscular. healthy sized.

I can honestly say that in the dating world of intense lying and exaggeration that curvy appears to be a euphemism for fat.

Please note, though, that it and/or fat don't necessarily mean overweight, that's a different thing all together. Someone can be of a technically healthy weight but still look undesirable.

And, yes, if you actually are slender (which most women aren't really - it's just that something like "normal" became co opted to meaning "fat", too, so what are you going to do?) then you probably should change it to that.

*sigh*

And this is why I'm glad e-harmony doesn't do the whole "body type" thing and just lets us post pictures. I would never in a million years use the word "slender" to describe myself. I picture "slender" to mean "thin with fine bone structure" whereas I'm muscular (but not body-builder or anything like that) and, well, curvy (where the curves are supposed to be). I don't have the skinny bones to be what I consider "slender" to mean.

Nope. Curvy means you have womanly curves (read the womanly hour-glass shape). You can be slender and curvy; you can be full-figured and curvy.
