I found this article and it is pretty intimidating. Rule #7 says
"Understand that all of the following phrases mean the same thing...that he's just not that into you: "Let's keep in touch." "I'll call you soon." "I'll call you tomorrow." "See you soon." "I had a marvelous time." "You're such a nice (interesting, accomplished, etc.) woman." Most men find it impossible to tell a woman that they are not interested in her...they simply disappear or use the stock phrases above."

What do you think?

Ugh to this and most everything else in this article ("With the availability of so many first dates with attractive, quality women, most move on rapidly (sometimes the very same evening!) if they are not fully satisfied or find a slight flaw in your character or body."?????).

To address the specific question: my guy has used all of these with me. (We're a LDR that started more than 9 months ago.) The author doesn't know what he (she?) is talking about.

In general I do not consider "Associated Content" to be a reliable source, btw.

Actions speak louder than words. It's not what he says, or any specific phrases, it's how he responds and behaves towards you.

I've never lied like that (why bother)?

Most women, however, have.

Plus 1

An article of baseless assumptions, generalizations and stereotyping of men and, shallow analysis of the actual issues.

I think it swings both ways. I cannot count how often I have heard that and then, nada, niente, rien, zero, zip, bupkas.

Age has nothing to do with it. Since I am in the above 40 category, I can attest to the immaturity at all ages below mine.

What total garbage....listen..I'm freaking 67 years old and date when I want to. I don't lack for dates and I'm just an average widowed woman who is active and interesting.

There are dates available for all of us, it's when we set limits on ourselves by believing foolish articles like this one that we get bummed out and depressed.

Just keep on-women don't be shy of sending first questions to all your matches who have a filled out profile and picture and make dates to meet people instead of have pen pals.

And get out-do things-volunteer, meet people! Thats the way to be involved in the dating world.
