The millionaire matchmaker says men do not like hair like mine. Curly as all heck.

And I guess she should know. She is a matchmaker whose clients are millionaires — men who are not exactly shy about asking for exactly what they want in a woman, right? They tell her they prefer straight hair, or at most wavy hair.

I see no reason she'd lie about this so I wonder ... what the preference is for men here at eHA. Do you prefer straight or curly hair or something in between? No preference? Anyways, please be honest about what you prefer, my feelings will not be hurt.

Maybe there is some biological reason for a straight hair preference?

I'm really just kind of curious. Please only vote in the poll if you are a guy. And please vote honestly.

Thanks!

Am I really undateable with curly hair?
Here is a link to an experiment a blogger did. One profile with curly hair, one profile with straight. She got almost double the contacts with straight hair.

Am I doomed?

(I mean I know the quality of the straight hair photo is a little bit better, but I think most of us put aside lighting issues don't we when we look at the photo and are able to judge yes that person seems attractive and my type or no that's not my type? Ie, the only pertinent difference seems to be curly hair versus straight.)

the two pics are of the same woman, but the straight hair one is a more flattering shot because of the lighting, not her hair. i would personally kill for curly hair, which is why ive had two failed perms and am still considering a third attempt .

I think the first date and even some of the other dates she was setting it up for failure with the hair thing. Just my opinion.

I have very straight hair and have done perms when I was younger. Now, I like it natural. Though it has a natural curve to now.

I've never thought about guys liking or not liking my hair because it is curly or straight. Though I have had guys who tell me they love long, past the shoulders length.

I don't want any of the guys to feel they need to be politically correct here about their preference. I appreciate the sisterly love, and no offense intended, but I really just want to hear the straight scoop from men. So guys, please ignore the women defending curly hair and be honest.

And, ladies, it's not just the dating link I gave, the millionaire matchmaker says the same thing, which started me googling whereupon I see the question is pretty much all over the Internet. Apparently most guys do NOT have a thing for curly hair.

So I would really like to hear honest opinions from the men. Is curly hair a bad thing?

The straight hair pic is better lit and seems like more was invested into it. However either hair style is okay with me. Think I actually prefer her with curly hair.

I don't mind curly hair personally, but I am not every guy.

Okay-I have to jump in with my two cents, even though I'm not a guy.
I'll try to just stick to my experience. When I straighten my hair, I'm told
I look like a completely different person and get much more attention from
men than I do when it's curly-makes me wonder 'do I look that bad with
curly hair?' but I can also tell you this I've had guys who couldn't stop talking about
how much they like my curls, so while each guy may have his preference, I certainly don't
think it makes you undateable and I'd like to see if the millionare matchmaker
would tell me I was undateable after evaluating me as a whole, obviously there are
those that will not like it but I think anyone with substance will not
dismiss someone they liked just because of the hair--maybe there are tts out there that
will disagree with that last statement?

The Millionaire Matchmaker also says men don't like redheads unless they're Irish.

I've got curly, red hair! I'M DOOMED!!!
