I would prefer to marry someone with equal income and/or education.

However, how a man MANAGES his money is probably more important than how much he actually makes. I have dated people who made less that I would trust to handle my estate. I have dated people who made more who I wouldn't trust in Walmart with my Visa.

This is a good article. While I don't think educated and financially-comfortable women should sell themselves short, it's also important that they realize that pedigree isn't everything. As the PhD stated, she dated plenty of equally-educated men who couldn't give her what her warehouse supervisor husband gives her.

If I wanted to marry a man making less than me I'd have to marry the paper boy.

He's not old enough yet.

"Popular online dating sites Match and eHarmony reported that romances happen occasionally between educated, professional women and men who are less educated or have a lower salary. But there remains a stigma on men who make less. Some professional women say they are reluctant to "marry down."

oh yes I knew you would find the shred of opinion that supports your bias

I don't know how eharmony would have that kind of data, do you?

"But most educated women prefer to secure a partner on the same educational level -- or higher."
