Recently I started a thread (Confessions of a "poofer")explaining to people about how I had "poofed" on a girl. I knew the right thing to do was to call and explain what had happened, but, as many people pointed out, I was sort of a coward.

But I think part of the problem was I didn't know what it felt like to have someone "poof" or to be strung along. Now I do ... and it sucks.

So I finally did the right thing and let "Girl A" know what had happened. I can't say I feel better about myself or the situation, but she indicated that she felt a lot better now that I had given her some explanation.

Anyway, I think I'm going to start going back and apologizing to all the women in my dating history who I've "poofed" on or screwed over. I'll see you all in a few years when I'm done.

Quite frankly, I am not so sure anyone who has been poofed by you or anyone for that matter cares after a couple weeks. If this is to salve your own soul, give it a rest - a little shallow. Stop trying to sound wonderfully enlightened and just act and treat people better going forward.

Yep...it's good that you learned something. Just apply it moving forward.
