Well... im kinda new here, but i've been on 2 "dates." The first time we were just hanging out. The second time, i think it was more of a date. First off, she politely sent her roommate out of the room ("you said you were going to the mall, right?") We were alone for five hours, made plenty of eye contact, and talked a lot. I know at the least being alone shows she trusts me, however, i don't know if it means anything more. Also, how can i tell that we're actually going steady? I feel that now we are, but once again, i'm horrible with reading signs....

Are we to understand that your entire second "date" took place in her apartment/house, and that talking was the extent of this dating activity?

Why don't you ask her for a real date and see what happens?

no, we watched a movie as well, and we had dinner. However, the talk did incled some details that some might consider personal, but not too personal, like what you would share with a friend, nothing like sex or anything.

well, I did that once with a used car salesman at a dealership.... but we weren't dating, either.

Like Buck said, ask her out on a real date.

Phew...five hours in the apartment...just you two, with plenty of eye contact. Hope you were wearing glasses! (for protection!)

Some people here are more keen on making jokes than actually giving advice.

It's hard to get a real good read on your situation, but I do think that you need to go on an actual date of some sort and I think you're the one that's going to need to set that in motion. My gut feeling is that you're on the road to a friendship rather than a relationship.

OP, I think it sounds like there is a chance that she is interested. Mainly, because she wanted her roommate gone. To me, wanting alone time with you, means she has more of an interest than friendship.

My concern, though, is that you are wondering if you are going steady. I don't know what that means to you, but you both need to find out more about each other and absolutely spend more time together.

Ultimately, you are going to have to ask her what her intentions are with you. Friends or more?

Hi Sixsamman ...
If you're fairly young I'd say you've hung out twice, and it's possible she's interested in you romantically, but maybe just as a friend. The way to find out and/or encourage a romance is to ask her on an actual date: set it up in advance, a particular activity etc. E.g.: take her out to dinner -- should work well as you two seem to talk well together!

If you're not very young, I'd say you've got a friend. Good luck!

PS - You're not "going steady" unless you talk about it and you both agree to it.
