Not sure where this post goes, so I'm sure the powers that be will put it in its rightful home....

I have signed up for various dating sites over my single years, but this is the first that I have had this happen.

You sign up for a site and get the usual "thanks for registering" email. Sometimes you will get another from the site proprietor saying "welcome to my site, ask if you have questions" etc., etc. This particular site is a local one in my area and not only did I get the "thanks for registering" and "if you have any questions" emails....I get a wink from the site proprietor....then a followup email saying "I usually don't do this, but found you attractive...etc." I believe it ended with something like "I know what it is I want, and right now I want to know more about you."

At first I was flattered....then thought hmmm, this guy could send this same email out to every single woman who joins his site to broaden his choice. It was specific to my profile, so I have ruled out a computer generated response.

What say the wise and experience daters? Do go on about my day feeling special or do I have reason to question?

I'd treat it like any other wink-and does the site owner have a profile posted?

Ya never know how or where you just might meet the right person - this might be it or it might be a scam of some sort but I'd check out the profile, google the site and see what you can get about it and maybe set up a meet at Starbucks..my favorite place for generic meets.

He does have a profile and does seem like a fine match, but my previous thought halted me in my tracks....and I actually told him so, that I was flattered but a bit unsure, which is why I didn't click the "no thank you" button.
