I'm not exactly expecting to start a deep discussion here, but I would still appreciate some opinions on the matter. I realized not long ago that I really like it when a guy wears cologne; when he has a certain smell about him that I can only find when I'm around him... it's pretty much irresistible for me. Now I haven't actually worn perfume in ages, which makes me wonder, do guys feel the same way about perfume on a girl? I've gotten comments on dates about smelling nice, even if it was only my shampoo or body wash that he was smelling, which makes me think it would probably be a good idea for me to start wearing some.

So guys, what kinds of perfume do you like a girl to wear? Fruity, flowery, dark and sexy, etc. If that's a hard question, is there a certain brand you know of that your girlfriend (or ex or whatever) wears that you like? I'm looking for ideas, and honestly I'm clueless. Alls I know is I can't wear anything that smells like food (ie vanilla), cuz it'll make me hungry all day long. Thanks for the help!

I like when women wear perfume. I'm not familiar with brands, I just don't like the strong smelling grandma type. Just like makeup though, less is more. 2 sprays is enough. It's a turn-off when you can smell perfume on someone when they're several feet away. Just a few weeks ago a lady at the gym was 3 treadmills away from me and I could smell her overpowering perfume. I really wanted to say something.

Yes, scent is a powerful attraction. At least for me. Even the way a woman's pillow smells is sexy It doesn't have to be heavy. Ann Taylor makes a nice line and so does CK. Yes, I asked :P

Babypower and lemons

But to the OP, go to Nordstrom's or whatever and spend some time at the counter sniffing yourself. Find what YOU like that best suits you.

No two women smell alike; kinda like snowflakes.

A small touch of Opium is can be very very nice.

Sweet shiny and freshly washed skin and hair is much nicer, needs no perfume at all...

Some men are allergic to perfume, which people that bathe in the stuff seem to have forgotten.

Many women stubbornly cling to their OWN ideas of what is alluring, doused in scent, makeup, and hairspray (Last year I had a g/f who used about a can a day, and that was when she went EASY on the stuff) over applied. (Tammy Faye Bakker is a monument to the breed), you should see what happens when they get drunk or the temperature rises....

I can only summarize it as:

Have you ever been to church as a kid. There was that one old lady who wore too much jewelry, her eyebrows were shaved, then penned it. She also used a trowel to apply her makeup. She probably wore a large baggy dress with floral patterns. She probably had very short hair or a dated beehive hairdo. Now just imagine what sort of perfume she would wear. Something bold, something strong and something excessive.
