I realized something recently. I think I'm much pickier online than in real life. When I'm out and about at a bar, the grocery store, or just driving down the road, I'll notice someone and think "hmmmm, she looks good." But if I saw the same person with a profile on a dating site I'd find many more flaws than I would in real life making that person undatable to me. I'm not sure why that is, but I have noticed that I think that way.

Probably because in real life you get some good signals - like movement and expressions - that you don't get online?

And you don't get the bad profile about the nine cats and video game obsessions?

I'm very selective in person as well as when I was online.

I try to be less, though I know some friends who struggled with online dating because they would only accept prince/princess charming or broke

IRL I never got any dates. On eHarmony I attempt to communicate with almost every match that I receive.

Hahaha
Yeah, I'm more pickier online than in real life. Probably, because in other situations I might have had distractions such as loud music or Etoh. Later, when speaking on the phone I would pick up on dis-qualifiers e.g. separations, grammar or children. Searching and contacting online allows me to be slightly more rational.
