Should i ask him on a 2nd date? or wait for him?

Started talking to him about a month ago. after 2 weeks of calling and texting we went out, he said he had a good time. I went on a vacation, 5 days later he texts me just small talk, and then says at the end of our texting...figured I'd drop a line since haven't heard from you.... i apologized said i had been busy and that was it no more texts from either side.He obvioulsy has interest in me to text me, but why all texts never calls? I do agree we flow better texting, but it seems so inpersonal.... after the date he has mostly been texting me, maybe he is nervous or just not that into me...

Should i ask him on a 2nd date? or wait for him? and if I do isn't that pushy? why keep in communication with me if no interest?

Any advice greatly appreciated!
