A time came when it was more painful to remain tight in a bud than the risk to break open & blossom

With all the threads lately that are negative, I wanted to post something that I am grateful for: Lots of great advice and well wishes. And.......I am going to post some examples to prove that many people on these boards are really, really great people and have well intentions. These are in response to my previous thread "I have issues."

Talldrinkofwater: Occupy your time. It only feels like forever. You have choices too.

The Priestess: Don't involve yourself with multi daters. The goal isn't to change your behavior, but to gather information so that you can make an informed decision as to whether you find the the arangement acceptable.

NYCPigeon: He hasn't revealed himself to you yet.

JayJay: People who are multi-daters have to decide what to do if they are interested in a non multi-dater. Be careful about making statements about not looking for a life partner. Probably before too long you're gong to meet a man & the two of you will be absolutely nuts for each other. Mark my words.

D_Lion: Don't increase your interst or effort to "win" someone's attention.

Nightling: You are over invested and don't know the outcome yet.

Dr.T: As always, many good thoughts.

Gr8Guy2008: It's how you deal with your feelings that are important. (Jealousy)

Lizziepooh: There is a balance that we need to find for ourselves that let's us be open to meeting people, but not so open that that we get attached too soon and get hurt by the process.

I have to say that during this month that Mr. Greenland has been home, I have found many of these advices to be true. I just wanted to create this thread because so many others have been so negative. I appreciate all the advice I get. I don't start many threads, but wanted to give a shout out to everyone that is genuine in their responses.

BTW......I spoke to him as recently as yesterday, but have decided to delete all emails from him as well as his phone number so that I am not tempted to contact him.

I'm thankful for all of the brains here that are so much more sophisticated than mine to help me think!

Seriously, some of the best people around.

So, at the end you gave up on this man solely due to seeing the women he had communicated with, or was there more?

I will never forget when Nanette backed me.

And I remember when a Frog did a Favor for a lady.

I'm probably going to have to come back with many, many more.

But I'd guess I've done just about enough damage for now.

I gave up because he didn't seem to be able to make the time for me to see if something could develop between us.

I don't want to spend the next couple of months communicating with him if I don't even know if something will develop.

Here's a question:

Had this man gone again to Greenland, and you had said you'd see others until / unless he made an exclusive agreement with you, what do you think would have happened?

I support you in that decision.

Thank you for starting this thread, Mary. It is a goods thing you have done. *grin* I am sorry that things did not go better with Mr. Greenland- but I have hopes that better things are yet to come. You're a good person.

Also, I'm gald I found this place- and all of you. It is nice to have so many different voices and views on things like this, and I have learned much from my time here. I am still learning things. Each person here is a part of what makes this place a real community, and the interactions I get to see here have helped me to understand people better.

This last bit is a big plus, as I am very much a shy person in real life.

Thank you again.

Now, if any of you are ever in the Appalachian neighborhood, I've some chocolate fudge brownies that are in desperate need of eating, if you'd like to provide another service...

*grin*
