My parents are both great cooks. I've never been one to cook a lot of foods until recently. I've started to learn how to cook stuff because I think it's good to do. Plus, I've heard a lot of women say that they love a man who can cook. I don't want my next girlfriend to think that I live out of the microwave or at nice restaurants, you know? Any advice from those of you men who can cook? And ladies, any advice on where to find some good tips? Thanks!

Being able to cook is a great thing to do whether you're a man or a woman! It's great to be self-sufficient in this way, IMO.

A great cook book is Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book. There are several variations out there; my favorite is still the original with the red & white checked cover. You can get it almost anywhere, from Wal-Mart to bookstores. It has great things from really simple soups and other basics to more complicated dishes, plus they are marked as 'easy', 'quick', etc. While I have a fairly large collection of cookbooks, this is always my favorite and the one I come back to time and again.

I am a terrible cook. I can boil water... and that's it.

Yet my fiancee accepts me even though I'm a bad cook.

See, one of the things that you can do together is cooking lessons. Already got them planned out to do together.

I have yet to meet a woman who falls for a guy because he is a good cook. Usually it is more of a big plus to have, once she already likes him for other things.

So, if I were a guy, instead of improving my cooking skills, improving my personality will be my first priority.
