Hey everyone,

How was your weekend? Any exciting activities or dates to report?

I laid low this weekend, was tired from running around for four days last week with my visitors from out of town plus I feel a cold coming on So I have absolutely nothing fun or interesting to report! lol

Therefore I'm counting on you - tell us what you did so I can live some excitement vicariously through all of you!

I had a funny 1st date (last) Sunday:

Met online, corresponded a week, then a message from him apologizing for the two day delay. (?) He said he was 'overwhelmed' with the responses to his 'meager' (new) profile, even without a pic. He said was interested in me, had cancelled all other plans 'real and imaginery' and deleted his profile. He'd sent me a pic and I was comfortable with the personal information he'd shared.

Um yeh. He's new to dating, so I figured he just got spooked, although maybe a little too dramatic for me. Without concern for the outcome either way, I suggested we talk on the phone and consider just friendship for now, if we decide to meet. He emailed me that he liked the friendship idea, so we met for lunch after speaking by phone.

The date went okay (not great, but okay): the conversation was fun and steady. He emailed me the next day saying there was no 'spark' but that he liked me as a friend. He added since 'that's not what either of us are looking for, good luck.'

Pretty funny, no?

On Friday we went to a free 'concert' at the Kimmel Center in Philly. The performer was a folk singer/ songwriter named Arlene McCann. Her stuff was quite nice. Then we went to dinner at the Oyster House. Oysters and a seafood clambake for 2. We like oysters.

Sunday afternoon & evening we went to a beer tasting at a friend's place. Lots of different kinds of beer and lots of munchies. Lots of laughs too.
