It's not a difference between the two sexes. It's a difference in what you want! By all means date a guys if he's hot and expect him to nit pick everything about you, because he will,.. why..?

Because he's HOT, and he knows he can do better than a lady who doesn't even have the time to get ready for a first date.

PLEASE!!!
you are putting yourself and the "double",
in the phrase, double standard.

They have these new inventions called personalities, that people are supposed to get to know,..

am I missing something here?

She's unhappy because he picked on her nails the on the first date, she agrees with him about being unhappy with her nails(why start this thread?), she's unhappy with the t-shirt and jeans on the first date
(undoubtedly he was really hot in the t-shirt and jeans),
did you say ANYTHING about the t-shirt and jeans?

How is this a double standard if you not only accept it, but facilitate it with your actions.
You are making a lot of very wrong assumptions about me... I was not unhappy that he made a comment about my nails. If you read the OP, you will see my statement has more to do with the fact that a lot of people on the boards talk about equity in dating, etc. To me, there is a difference, expectations are different. Just like with the jeans and tshirt... again, wrong assumptions about me. I have no problem with a guy wearing jeans and a tshirt... I don't think this is what he would expect of me on a first date. Just saying there are differences.

Your opinion is yours... mine is mine... I'm not judging yours, but it sure appears that you want to "judge" mine. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to view this, just think there are different opinions and different types of people we date. Some women/men would be horrified about the nail polish, the jeans, the tshirt... and... a guy paying for the date. To me, it's all a matter of the type of person you are looking for, and the expectations you have yourself. Just saying there are differences, and in a way, was hoping to show that we tend to judge too quickly about the "right" or "wrong" way to date based on our own expectations.
