When it comes to dating does a person's enthusiasm for sport - or lack of it - factor in?

It is a sweeping generalisation that men frequently cite sporting activities and interests among their hobbies and online profiles show them mountain biking, bear fighting, lightsaber-ing (ok I made the last one up). Are they hoping to attract like minded females or is it that they think that's what women want to be dating ~ action men?

Women as another sweeping generalisation often aren't that bothered about sport. Is that deemed unattractive by men?

It'd be dull if this thread got swamped with "well I'm a woman, and I love extreme kayaking" or "I'm a man and I have no upper body strength what so ever" although I have every faith you people exist.

This is more of a fun exploration of the part that sport plays in dating compatibility.

I like being active..therefore I like guys who are also active. That doesn't mean watching golf or NASCAR or extreme light-sabering on television-but who actually go out and DO it.

So I put activities down in my profile and look for active men when I am reading profiles. And, because I don't feel the need to be welded to my guys side all weekend, I encourage him to go do what he wants to do on his day off...after all, it's still winter and my winter 'sport' is yoga and quilting. I don't need any one with me to do either.

I admit to being bugged overly by people who need to have the same activities 99% of the time with their mate. But then, thats me. I have a friend who NEVER will come out to play with me on a weekend night just in case her boyfriend wants to make plans..and since his big thrill is Video Games and role game playing (and hers isn't) she ends up watching him play video games or standing around watching him and other role players interact with each other.

Booorrring!

My summer sport is sitting on the porch with some Beer and watching the lawn sprinkler go back ... and ... forth ... back ... and ... forth ...

When I have the sprinkler on, the frogs in the wetland behind my house come to visit..and they bring lightsabers too. Are they friends of yours? They usually don't have beer though.

My lightsaber needs a new bulb.

Sometimes I brew some coffee and sit on the tailgate of my truck in the morning, and swing my legs.

Burn a lot of calories, this way.

Or a Kiss?
