Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favourite films.Truman Capote’s novel that it so closely follows. I sometimes wish I was Paul 'Fred' Varjak. A gigolo, who lives down stairs from Audrey Hepburn (who turns up climbing though his window one night) and has a modest novel published to his name. The party scene is delightful. I can almost forgive the Japanese stereotyping so over played Micky Rooney. And Holly Golightly’s delightful line: "Of course, I can't really think of anything I've never done."

It’s a perfect “date movies”with Paul’s insightful concluding line for any courting couples:

Well you don't know if your friends are going to say no until you ask them. If they do say no go from there. If they say yes, problem solved.

So if I understand you got the one girl interested in going and because she has invited along a bunch of her friends you are going to back out?

That may be my favorite movie. I would go but I am a girl and a bit too far away. I say present it to your male friends as a great way to meet single girls who are going to be in a romantic mood.

Forget the friends, turn up in a wig and a dress and say you didn't want to feel left out.

oh, thanks, gothustartus. I guess I'd expext that fom you.

But seriously I want some constructive advice. The girls could organise it themselves if they want. I'm redundant. I have mentioned the idea to a few more mates. Indifferance.

I also sence that women, will sort of precieve me, as well, less than manly.

It feels kinda hopeless.

I guess you are from Melbourne (Grand Prix).

Invite everyone you know and tell them to bring someone. This movie is a cult icon. No one gives a rip about man-ly-ness, etc.

It is already not a date. Maybe you should plan a barbie at your place a week or so later and invite all the folks that show up to come- as well as others you know.

"Mate" - This isn't a BBQ - Don;t worry about the M/F ratio or who in going to pair up with who. Just enjoy it FFS.
