Did he by any chance say that it takes him time to get to know you, and he is just testing out the situation first, before he makes any kind of decision?? Because if he said anything like that in his profile, that is probably what he is doing. It's kind of annoying, but he will come around when he feels like it's comfortable. And then maybe he will be the type, that once you get him going, it will be hard to stop him from talking...lol...

So, don't give up!!
