Dating is often times a confusing and stressful process. I am curious as to what is each posters motivation to date.

But in my case, men.

Is the process of meeting men/women not the prerequisite of dating.

I mean I do not date because I do not meet men or women, but me dating myself (I suppose) is not going to make me meet men or women.

I date because I want to find a mate for a long-term committed relationship. I do not enjoy the dating (especially first date) process. I'd rather have a relationship than just a series of dates.

Quite honestly, I'm dated with to goal of finding a partner to marry. Now, that certainly doesn't mean I'm talking marriage and wedding bells from the get-go....I'm not at all interested in rushing the process, but it does mean that that's the metric by which I evaluate romantic relationships I'm in. If I realize that I can't see myself eventually marrying the person I'm dating, or the relationship is stagnating rather than progressing, it's time to move on.

Each date I ever went on it was with the goal of finding a companion. Like others the idea of dating just to date doesn't appeal to me.
