Life is not governed by a predictable, linear function except in small increments. Mostly it is governed by unpredicted and unpredictable chaotic events that undermine the "generally accepted" parameters and establish something odd and alien,which soon becomes the new paradigm.

The local small town newspaper last Saturday had an article about an amazing person who had built a miniature replica of the town in her apartment and decorated it in her apartment; as miniatures like this fascinate me, I made an appointment to visit it and see the architect, who, the paper said, whad a bad back and neuropathy of the feet that kept her in constant pain.

I went there and it all was as mentioned, a staggeringly fascinating display and took several pictures and chatted with her for an hour about it, and sharing stories.

She is a small woman about 5'. A dazzling, captivating smile and simply a joyful utterly upbeat person.

I have to say I felt dizzy with attraction to her and my read was that she felt some of it too; one of the strongest connections I ever felt, and so I simply asked her out for NYE.

I am not much good at reading faces but this time you could see she looked crestfallen as she said she was sorry to decline because she already was having plans with her sister.

She has had a pretty hardscrabble life and is scraping by now, does not even own a computer so would never see this...

I gave her a hug which lingered and she said she loved to hug, and said I would call her again.


The amazing part was that I was left dizzy with desire. She looked very sexy, joyful and hot as hell. She and I seem much in the same place, at this moment in time, though with such different lives.

She is a great grandmother that got married the first time at 16 years old to escape an abusive, alcoholic mother.

She is sixty eight years old!!!

You heard me.

Wish me luck or bash me for going totally off the rails!!!

Since you asked.
I was just being a bit facetious, as I'm 68 and have been in a LTR with a man 25 years my junior for over three years. I didn't notice your age stated in your profile, but judging by your year of graduation, you can't be all that much younger than her. At any rate, good luck and have fun.

You like her. You think she might feel the same. So that's a good start. It's all you get really. Oh and why are you bothering with media culture anyway? Not their opinion that matters here, it's yours and hers. That's it.

Isn't it amazing how life can throw us for a loop when we're least expecting any changes?

Go for it, darlin'. Just keep in mind that her physical condition may cause some rescheduling or cancellations - don't take it personally, if that should occur, as I'm sure she'll be feeling guilty enough if she has to cancel.

Otherwise, have fun! Get into trouble, make spectacles of yourselves if it strikes your fancy. Explore what life has given you.
