Only four days away! What is everyone's plan?

I have no date =( and no prospects, so I don't know what to do! Is it strange for a girl to go to a bar alone? Kind of asking for trouble? Especially in the dress I bought

Seriously though, I don't want another year of sitting at home with Redbox wishing I was out acting my age! (22!)

Ideas? Suggestions? Want to come to AZ and be my date?

Start asking some friends what they're plans are..some might be just doing a low key thing and stay at home. Maybe see who you know that might not have plans, and have a small 4-5 people party at your place or something.

Don't spend too much energy of wanting to be out and partying (or finding a date)...if that didn't happen, you'll depress yourself.

Although I already have a 'casual' invite from a friend (small low key party...maybe like less than 10 people), I just asked another friend today what he'll be doing on that day...he said he might be just staying home and our mutual friend might do the same, so that'll be my plan B...inviting them to my place, open a nice bottle of wine and maybe rent a DVD.

Plan C....still open a nice bottle of wine, cook me a nice dinner and watch a DVD.

But I do share in your frustrations. Ever since my breakup with my gf earler this year, I cant buy a date from the flea market My dating drought has been as dry as AZ.

I was going to go visit my ex-gf in Oregon, but at the the last minute she found a new bf and I had to eat the cost of the airplane ticket. So I am in serious danger of spending New Years Eve alone.

It's embarrassing to admit that in a big city like Phoenix, I cannot get a date since June.

Meh...I work 7p-7am, but at least I get time and 1/2. New Years is busy, we get a lot of drunks, assault victims and people who want to "pull the plug". It should be an eventful night.

my first suggestion is avoid KungFuFtr that night ... seems you've enough to do ... but here's hoppy some charming female police officer or ambo. delivers some of the carnage and catches you eye ... happens on all the TV shows. Except I think they have the genders the other way around. But what the heck, you're way handsome enough for this TV show.

I don't know about AZ, but some places have costume and/or pajama parties for New Year's Eve. If I had not had any plans already, I'd probably do that, with or without date, because I personally believe a date should not affect the amount of fun I should have on a New Year's Eve.

Do you have a single friend (male or female)? If you are uncomfortable going alone to a New Year's Eve event, ask at least one of them to go with you so both of you can have fun.

You could use any searchable service, like Match, title your profile "Date for New Years?" or something.

In the profile text, just put something short about looking for a companion to go out, date and time of meeting specific of course, and something about what you'd like to do.

You'll get men who agree; read through then and pick a couple of good ones to e-mail and call, then go with the best one (either best for that night, or best for longer term, your choice.)

Not doing a thing, i caught the flu last week and have spent christmas either in bed or (because i'm a geek) wrapped in a duvet at the keyboard.
