Any women live in NYC? How do you handle the ratio being out of your favor?

There are a lot of stats out there placing the number of women in NY at several times the amount of men. Who knows what is accurate exactly, but if you live here you definitely notice that things are in the mens' favor as far as dating goes. This especially goes for guys who are educated, funny, successful and even somewhat attractive "good catches". Women who fit this description seem to be a dime a dozen for every one man who does. It gets frustrating when you think you have met someone interesting there are always several other girls vying for their attention. This gets even more noticable as you get into your 30's. Any advice on how you deal with this? How do you not let your spirits get crushed and stay positive that you will meet the right one at some point?

I think you overstate the ratio considerably.

I also live in a major metro area where similar stats are thrown around.
You can't focus on that and you can't spend a lot of time listening to people who focus on that either.
The only thing you can do is stay on top of your game, put yourself in the position to meet people, be pleasant/good company, and stay certain that you will meet 'your guy'. You can't focus on the competition- focus on what *you* bring to the table. Cause really what's the alternative? Worry all of the time? Condemn yourself to a lifetime of competing or being alone? Those options don't sound like fun to me, so I refuse to entertain them!
Best of luck.

How exacting are your requirements and specs for a man? If you are looking for the super successful then yes I'd agree with you that those prizes are highly sought after with many chasers. If you are just looking for a truly good man that is your equal as measured by an unbiased third party then I would tend to disagree with you.
