Daniel, not sure if you've already had your date (if so....we need to hear how it went! ) but I wanted to share this with you:

Love: Carol Berman & Craig Brown | Philadelphia Inquirer | 12/02/2009

It's the success story about an eHarmony Couple who lived a few hours apart. The thing that made me think about your thread was that she says how much she enjoyed that he took the time to plan a date even though it was in her hometown. Something you might want to consider if you decide to go out there vs. just meeting halfway.

Not a specific suggestion, but as a general rule I think it's a good idea to plan a first or second date as something that's not too drawn out (maybe 1-2 hours), but with a secondary plan to extend it if desired.

For example, going to dinner with the option of seeing some live music afterwards, or going dancing with the possibility of dessert later. Just mention the first thing as the idea for the date, and then if it's going well suggest the second activity as the first is starting to wind down. Both places should ideally be in walking distance of each other.

Public place. Diner.

I met the gal I'm with now "half way" for diner. We totaly hit it off! Talked for hours. Then we decided to see a movie. Keep the night open. Just meet and see what happens. Take it from there.

Lori, thanks for the link, that's a wonderful story. I can only wish I get that lucky, I'll take Craig's actions as inspiration for sure.

I thought I would keep you folks updated. We're going out this Saturday. I was originally planning on bowling, but we decided to test each other's pool skills instead. She's a self proclaimed pool shark, so I'm a little worried, haha. Anyways, we're meeting for lunch, play some pool, and possibly see a movie afterwards. I'm very much looking forward to it, it's my first real date since... wow... since I was a teenager? So I'm very nervous, too... lol. (I really am!)

Thanks for all the ideas, folks. I'm driving to her town, and I don't think I'll mind to keep driving there, either. She's totally worth it. I'm praying to God she likes me back, lol, if not... well... keep on looking, I suppose.

I'll update again next weekend. Peace.
