I hate talking on the phone and I hate calling women on the phone. I also hate texting! I pretty much prefer e-mail unless I am backed into a corner and have to talk on the phone.

The exception to this is one of the first ladies that I met on match. She is a lousy texter and lousy e-mailer. I usually talk to her on the phone for a couple hours once or twice a week for the past year and a half. Although we are very close friends and have shared many deep personal thoughts we pretty much sit and stare at each other when we get together in person.

I guess each person is different and learning and adapting to their communication style is what building a relationship is all about!

I dislike email and I hate texting. I have little time in my life for women who persist in those abominations.

I find that most of the men in my age range, over 50, really hate texting and e-mail. Unless it's easier to text because it's not a good time to make a phone call, I would prefer a real conversation.

I don't mind either one. My bf and I are in our 40s and both work jobs where often it's not convenient to talk on the phone, so quick texts during the day are a great way to communicate.

The thing that I like about texting is the convenience. My best friend has an 18 month old baby, while my kids are 13 & 8. We have a hard time connecting by phone, but we can text and answer each other at leisure. I think it depends on the person and the situation.

I'm with Tiffany here...I think it's a generational thing..We older (more dignified and mature) folk tend to talk on the phone as it's the way we did it in the olde days.

Younger people text more and don't answer their phone calls, I've noticed.

And, of course, there is no absolute with this as each person has his or her own opinions.

As someone who worked on the phone for over 30 years, I loathe chatting now..I'm a "Give me the info and hang up" person. I only text to my grand kids and younger friends and really prefer e-mails for general information and dating.

However, talking on the phone does make sure the person you are trying to contact actually has received the message and agreed to the date, location, day and time --whereas texting and emails always run the risk of cyber miscommunications.

Hows that for a confusing answer? I should have just said " I dunno".
