Welcome Captain! Are you still in the military? If so, where are you stationed? There are TONS of military men all over the world using eHarmony to find their match -- so much so we got a bunch of attention in the media for it earlier this year.

Glad you're here and thanks for serving our country in the armed forces

Welcome seagirl!! I remember you from the weekend/dating roundup thread. How exciting, moving to a new city. I did the same thing (clear across country) but that was a loooong time ago. Sometimes I think of moving somewhere new, but the truth is I love So Cal too much to ever leave I think, we have it all here and the weather can't be beat.

Are you a professional dancer or is it a hobby?

Glad you're here

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Life is sure an adventure! I'm enjoying where I'm at right now, but before I know it all of my children will be grown up and out on their own. The kids are at the point in their life where they are busy with their own interests, so now it is time for me to branch out and see what life is like outside of being a mom.

I agree with you that friendship is one of life's greatest treasures. Through other forums I have met some very sweet people. I don't know that I'll ever meet them face to face, but I enjoy e-mailing, IMing, and talking on the phone with them.

Your idea of a group for people new to dating sounds great. I just don't know if I'd be the one to take on that sort of thing.

Thanks again!

Have a beautiful day.

Hi! I'm Lilycat, both a lurker and a newbie here! Thought I would start posting because these boards look like fun. I am yet another voracious reader with wide ranging tastes, and yes a member on the other side as someone else so nicely put it! Having about the same success (or lack therof) as a lot of other people are having, but it is kind of fun to try it out!

I had to retire from the RAAC (Royal Australian Armoured Corp's) about 10 years ago due to my health failing without any obvious reason. It then took me 5 years to find out that I had a realy rare form of cancer called "Caracinoid Syndrome". However I had married and had 1 daughter before I found out that I only had a year or so before my liver would fail. If I hadn't had private health insurance and a fairly large amount of money invested in a few Fund management companies I wouldn'tbe here right now to share my stories.

I found an experimental radiation therapy and a Radiologist that was willing to give it a try, and so I'm still here. Unfortunately I had to spend all of my invetments and medical insurance payout on maintaining my health and my now Ex wifes lifestyle. Fortunately I still own my house and car and I don't have a mortage or any debt except for my brand new Kirby vacum cleaner. lol the yanks certainly know how to build a damn good vacum cleaner, and it has some very useful attachments

OMG I have just seen the news story out of Fort Wood in Texas, my heart is breaking. An officer? a Psychologist? There is something so very wrong with this?

Sorry I have to go now.

Hi Lori,

I had to retire from the RAAC (Royal Australian Armoured Corps) about 10 years ago Due to getting a terminal version of cancer and being told I had less than 12 months to live, I have since beaten the cancer. Unfortunately it was at a very high cost, my wife left me and took the kids with her, I have lost all of my investments except for my car, my house and it's contents.

However I have learnt something very important from all of this, and that is to remain positive no matter what happens to you. If we focus on the positive things in our life and in our future then everything else becomes insignificant and life becomes a lot easier to live.

The most positive thing in my life at the moment is my new girlfriend, I never thought during the last 10 years of my life that I would end up with an inteligent, beautiful, funny and drop dead gorgeous 20 year old girlfriend. Yet here I am still alive and well and looking forward to a long and very exciting relationship with the woman of my dreams.

I am very sadened to hear what happened to my American Armoured Corps brothers this morning at Fort Wood, Texas. So many good men dead and so many families left wondering what the hell is going on in this crasy world, my heart goes out to them all and I offer my prayers to them.

I believe that if we all focus on a positive future then things will change forthe better.

Cheers and good fortune to you all.
Captain Phatt.

Thanks Lori! Dancing is my hobby, but I put a lot of effort into practice and go on stage, so I would say more of a passion. Ya I moved coast to coast too.
