Thanks Lizzie, I guessed you were a girl from your screen name.

I've heard loud and clear from everyone about the birthday card.

As to your reasoning, here's what I'm thinking. The reason why I said I'm not 100% over her is that I would get back together with her only after a serious discussion about control in the relationship. I don't think she would go for it, if she is even interested in getting back together at all.

I'm approaching the meeting with an open mind, but will definitely make sure to keep an eye out for myself if we proceed with anything in the future. If we never see each other again? Meh, at least I'l get my stuff back.
Here is how I would play it, Shoop. How control should be is done - not discussed. I would play it aloof and let her come to you after this meeting. At that point, you lay down the new rules.

Good luck!

That's generally how I was planning to play it, and yes the card was a foolish idea.

If she doesn't come back, meh so be it. It won't be the end of the world, but if we could work things out I'd go for it. Which is why I said I wasn't 100% over her. If I was 100% over her I wouldn't even think about getting back together with her.

Had the meeting on Sunday.

It was pleasant. No spark or apparent desire to re-connect on either end.

I forgot that I left one of my suits at her place so I'm glad it happened.

In hindsight, I think she was a little unrealistic in being on eH when she was. The new job is very tough on her. There was a very apparent physical toll on her in the two months it has been since we saw each other.

Today is her birthday and she isn't doing anything for it because she's too busy. If you are too busy for your own birthday then you are definitely too busy for a relationship.

You'll never go wrong by playing nice.

Just don't assume.

Yeah, too busy for her birthday. I believe her, but that's just more how she approaches her work than anything else.

Went as well as could have been hoped.

Yeah, the suit was an unexpected bonus. I totally forgot about it, and would have to get it tailored to use it regularly again ... that's the plus side of losing weight I guess.
