Age is only a concern when it's at the beginning and end of my acceptable dating age range. Which for me is 28-40.

At least you barely make it. I lose out by 4 years!

I'm 44 and was on eH for 3 months about a year ago. Since I tend to like older men, age wasn't much of an issue, though I wouldn't have really known if it was. Who's to say it's age that makes guys pass on a particular woman?

As far as lying about age, I would automatically pass on someone that did. It's manipulative and saying they know what is best for me more than I do myself. Not cool.

Prejudice and known statistics would be my guess. It is what it is...

In general, yes. But in any one particular case, it could be just about anything - hair color, weight, occupation, the word "diva" or "princess" - you just never know. People are complicated.

Do you have something you'd like to confess Jayjay?

What should I tell her? Ladies would you lie about your age? Men, what would you do if you met a beautiful, smart, funny, established woman and found out later that she took 5 years off of her age on her profile? Also, men who are in their late 30s early 40s, would you pass over someone who was 38 if you still wanted to have kids?
No, she should not lie. (Especially if she has written any books and is matched with any librarians. I don't know how we librarians know this, but author's birth years are always included in the author record in the library catalog. I caught a MAN lying about his age this way. )

If she is looking for a relationship built on respect and honesty, then she would be a fool to try to snag a guy worth keeping with a lie. If all she wants is more dates, then, sure go ahead and lie. As Melman said, the truth will come out and that will be the end of the relationship. But hey! no problem, she can always lie the next guy, right?

She wants someone who is ready to accept along with her that she may not have natural children. This will mean she will lose out on dating a lot of men from 30-60 are hoping to date 20 year olds. She will not have the same experience as you, even if she shaves 5 years off her age.

I don't know whether to advise her to do eH, my experience has been anything but encouraging, but as for lying, it is pointless and desperate.

My range is 30 to mid-upper 30s. But some hot older women I'm willing to be her boy toy .

This is not set in stone, if you happened to be 29 1/2 years old (or 39 7/8) , please submit your application to me anyway. I will still gladly review them
