Some guy in another thread claimed taking a virgin was the holy grail for some young men. So the reasons for that were the whole impetus behind starting the thread froggy. ;p~

Hmmm..... I'm of two minds on this. I am personally a 25 year old virgin and from my experience, that scares a lot of guys away. It can be frustrating when it turns men off if you are honest with them so I can relate to not telling them. Honestly, it's kind of embarrassing at my age to still not have had sex. I don't think that every girl who's a virgin is going to be so emotionally involved... I've had friends who just lost it to lose it and they've never been attached. I think first love is far more powerful than first lover.

It's a fair desire to want to be your partner's first - provided you bring the same to the table.

Somehow, I doubt this is what the "man in another thread" meant.

Two years ago, I dated the "40 year old virgin", I had absolutely no idea until the act, then it became Oh-So-Obvious. He was 43 at the time and completely inexperienced. I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I never came right out and asked, but I can assure the reading audience, there was no doubt he had never been "all the way" with a woman before.

The fact that he was a virgin was neither here nor there to me, it was that he was not a good student. I tried gentle suggestions, I tried sitting down and talking with him, but in the end he was only interested in "gettin' in there and gettin' 'er done" (for himself). After a couple of months of complete frustration, I broke it off with him. I felt bad about it, but sheesh - the guy was making me crazy!

Most of the Posts (with one exception) are addressing the issue of the woman being the virgin.

In my early 40s I went on a date with a man who was so nervous his hands were shaking! And that was just during the lunch we had.

I'm sure he was a virgin, if he was that nervous at just having lunch with a woman. A mutual acquaintance later told me he'd never had a girlfriend.

The whole idea just creeps me out.

I hate to say it, but past a certain age, if a man has no experience, he should go to a prostitute and get some!

I was in a relationship with a woman for a few months this year, (met on EH btw) that told me, (that at age 51 with 3 adult children!!!) with bright shiny eyes she was a BORN-AGAIN virgin.

And holding out for "the rock":

To this, I countered with TWO things:

1. This "gift" is usually of more value to the "GIVER" than to the "GIFTED".

2. In a relationship that is serious (this one was becoming that) a couple should be compatible in ALL. respects, and to me personally, SEX is not the LEAST important of these.

She remain unmoved.

Soon thereafter, I called it quits and moved on.

I wish her good luck; <----- with THAT zeitgeist, she will really need it.
I'm sorry.....I know I shouldn't.....But I just can't help laughing at this!
