Wait, didn't you just propose to me a couple weeks ago? Should we go to the polyamory thread now?

Any man past the age of about 20 who is interested in a virgin (or is excited by the idea of a virgin, or considers one a 'score' or of higher value than a non-virgin) who isn't doing so from devout religious conviction is creepy. And I'm being generous with the devout religious caveat.

I second the arrogance, with the exception of some earlier posters that refused to participate (D_Lion and TP come to mind). Regardless of what you may have been led to believe up till now, there is not a great deal of trauma associated with losing one's virginity (unless it is lost in a traumatic way, i.e. abuse) and those are not magic wands between your legs with the power to drive women out of their minds with a mere touch (although I confess they are fun to play with).

Dating a virgin, male or female, is nothing more than dating someone with a different sexual history than you have. The reason female virginity is more highly regarded is, to some extent cultural, but is also about ego - being the first to break ground, so to speak. Most women prefer a man who already knows how to drive a stick shift. There's nothing I hate worse than a lot of granny-clutching and lurching around.

Fetishizing anything rather than seeing another individual as just an individual is creepy. Period.
BINGO!! Thanks for your post LBMM! Finally someone who talks past the ego carp.

Frankly I don't care if the man is a virgin or not but, not being a virgin myself anymore, I probably would prefer someone with experience since it's a lot easier than having to talk someone through all the motions and dealing with nerves. If you start out both as virgins together then the fun is in the pleasure of first time exploration but the garbage about breaking ground and all the other innuendo of being Alexander the Great and conquering new territory disgusts me. That's not what love is about and that is not what a person should be concentrating on. Also, if a woman is a virgin and you are not and you don't want to entertain the idea of starting something with a virgin, so what! What is your problem? Were we not all virgins at one time or another? The reasons for being a virgin in your 30s or 40s or even 50s could be as varied as the grains of sand on a beach and a person shouldn't be judged for keeping their virginity any more than they should be judged for sleeping with Tom, Dick or Harry. Life brings many surprises in the sexual arena as it does in all other aspects of our world.

Wow ...I'm speechless. This thread needs to be deleted.

I don't know if it was Trixie's intention (I'd like to think not), but it seems like this thread has a hidden agenda from the 'sisterhood' ...lure guys out in the open by asking for our opinions - and clarifications of our opinions - and calling us "wussies"? wth? very mature ...then when we try to give it, 3 or 4 of you jump out of the bushes and attack. You aren't looking for reason and understanding, you are looking for an excuse.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not participating in this warlock hunt.

Explanation: Virgin men aren't practiced in the various "techniques" necessary to please a sexually versed woman.

Once you've driven a Lexus, you don't go back to driving a Ford...

I would've thought there's a lot to be said for dating someone who has had a lot of sex with different people and is looking to settle down.

In fact I'll go as far to say I'm always dumb founded by Islam promising 42 virgins in heaven. Too many to get along nicely and too few for one a week for your first year.

And besides, all 72 of them went to CATHOLIC schools.

as long as they are willing to learn, I doubt most women would have a problem with it, especially if they were experienced themselves.

I'll have to disagree..again I'll refer to the Natalie Dylan story the woman that auctioned off her virginity. The man that made the 3.7 million dollar bid isn't even from an Islamic country he's from Australia. She also reportedly received thousands upon thousands of bids.
Yebbbit, isn't that just the ultimate in bragging rights? I mean granted she is supposed to be a pretty hot little number in addition to being a virgin, so the bidder isn't going to be have to force himself to have sex with her. But didn't someone else on this thread talk about how bragging rights is only a big deal if his buddies think the virgin was a good score. So really, is there anything really involved in the actual having sex with a virgin that is attractive? I would think ESPECIALLY in your cited case, it is the bragging rights that is the turn on, not the actual act. Millions of people all over the world now know he has paid for the most expensive virgin ever. wow.

I can only see a man who is also saving himself for marriage as valuing the first time with a virgin as in anyway superior sex. I think as a virgin, it would be nice to learn together. But I can't see anyone who hasn't been abstinent thinking making love to a virgin is anything but second rate sex. The most they would hope for is that with practice they would get better.

BTW, I'm not looking for anyone to assure me otherwise. And for the record, although some may feel some of the statements men have made were condescending, as someone who is trying to keep her head, having a date who is also worried about me keeping it and not entering into anything foolishly & regretting it later, is also appreciated.
