I'm alone as well, but I thought I'd treat myself just as well as if I were hosting someone else (that is, if there really were anyone else, and I wasn't here all alone... wait! stop it!) and make myself an amazing meal of sun dried tomato alfredo sauce with fresh mushrooms, and some red and green peppers and onions from my garden, cajun blackened chicken and andouille sausage, and tons of cajun seasoning and cayenne pepper over whole wheat fettucini. YUMMMM!
OK, I do feel a bit better realizing that I am incredibly capable of treatin myself well in spite of being... here... all... aloooonnnnee...... darn

After reading some of chawks recent posts....I'm inclined to think it must be the Canine Flu.
Hey, I resemble that remark!

It's really easy to figure out which kind of flu you have:

Regular flu - sniffling
Swine flu - snorting
Canine flu - sniffing others' backsides

When you stop looking you will find someone.

(Argh! I absolutely HATE that one!)

Are you saying you have no one to sniff?

The canines I've seen didn't really need a partner.

Not sure how it works with frogs.

Me too. Even my daughter have said it to me many a time. I told her that if she said it one more time I'd knock her lights out

I am serious...I am not being "falsely humble". I am happy to have my bf but one thing is for sure...being in a relationship adds more joy, yes, but also new stresses. Also, I still have the same life problems that we have to deal with together.

I have been single much of my life...pleasing myself on a Saturday night was not hard! I could take my dogs out, get a movie, eat something EASY to prepare, read a book...but with another person to consider...I truly *cannot* pick any movie I want (he doesn't like many of my movies), I have to watch something that is often boring to me, I can't just eat any ol' thing and be happy and I don't feel I have to clean up...I clean up only if I feel like it for ME.

Now tonight...we are going to walk my dogs (something that needs to be done everyday...twice a day), then get a movie or two (I will NOT be able to pick my own but I've adjusted and gotten into embroidery to keep myself happy), then I cook something...hoping it will turn out good enough. So you see, some nights we have something pretty fun and interesting but others it's pretty ordinary. I am glad, though, to be brushing up on my cooking...sometimes you need someone to cook for to improve your skills.

I really believe like never before...DO the things YOU like to do before you find someone. Before I met my bf, I was going to go on a bike tour and Alaskan cruise! By myself! (I thought I was going to meet my mate that way) He doesn't want to do these things! I could still do them but not as freely...you know? I am trying to get him to go to Alaska and I am seriously going to say to him "this is my dream vacation...it's beautiful and full of nature, if you don't want to go, I understand but I am going".

It's not easy!!!!

Oh, and he doesn't bike and isn't particularly athletic.

So, even as it's so nice to have someone...yes it is....there are a fair number of compromises.

So do what you want now...while you can.

yeah, I did that last night, it seems to have created some new problems..

like my swollen knee from falling down, an insane craving for salt, general malaise....and stacks of laundry I must do before my trip tomorrow. And general uncertainty about my words last night...never good. and falling down is much better done in private...but it wasn't.
If it makes any difference I am very proud of you.

I am sure that the hotel has a (pricey) laundry service. You could go that route as a last resort.

There's a lid for every pot, and plenty of fish in the sea.
