I've never used it since all my matches have been local.. If I had a ldr possibility I would suggest it pretty quickly.

With a local match I don't think that it would be necessary. I have done video chat with friends that live a long distance away but mostly it was for fun and after we played around with it for a bit we went back to just talking without the video.

If this is a LDR then video chat may add a feeling of being together that you don't get from just a voice call.

If you have a computer, camera, microphone and speaker and a broadband internet connection you can do video chat using Yahoo! IM or most any other IM that you wish.

Works great and I would prefer to talk on Yahoo! IM voice than the telephone.

So I just used video chat this evening and I hate how I look on cam but wherever. I think that if you can call on the phone you can video chat. I also think it is easy because you can see each other and type or talk. I would also think that if they say yes to it then they could possibly be interested as well.

My match was eight hours away by car - and in Canada.

And we never even got to meet.
