Here again I'm very thankfull for most of the advice given. For everyone else who just want's to insert a wise remark-save it.Please .The whole cough medicine and tampons avatar was to provide a little comic relief because it was a genuine mistake that it got posted(I explained this in an earlier post)and I just kept it on there as a reminder not to take this whole thing to serious. The problem with posting a real photo on here is that it's been my experience that just because you post it doesn't mean that it's actually you.I would rather send someone that sound's interested an updated pic.I know that a bunch of you are going to say that it's pointless when people post a bogus pic because sooner or later someone is going to figure you out.I am merely trying a different approach here because the one on on EH was not working. And by the way, does anyone also feel that this isnt the right place to try and meet a person to possibly date or correspond to?Where does it say that this isn't the right place? Here I thought this is where people come to talk and share storie's with. What's wrong with trying to get to know each other better?Perhaps it may not be the best place but I am very new to this whole thing still. Here I can get almost instant results without that whole waiting game to deal with.Again I stress I am not desperate just frustrated. How about you?

You are right; the problem HERE of course is the "Geographic Undesireability") of us all, one to another (and the concommitant problems with that, an issue that has been plowed to death on here again and again..)

Personally, I have been to several of the EHA meet and greets and been utterly and absolutely delighted with the QUALITY of the attendees (even went to one, all the way XC to Atlanta last year) and have made several wonderful enduring friendships as a result.

Some dates too ... a couple, just......WOW !!!!!!!!

(And btw, I have a VERY wise crack for you. In deference to your wishes, expressed hereinabove, you will have to send a PM to read it.)

The point you are missing is that we are trying to explain that you "meet" people here by sharing your thoughts and ideas on things. You don't have to have a picture, you don't have to have your profile filled out (look at me). But it does help.

You asked for advice on how to meet people here. We provided that.

Getting defensive is not a good way to meet people here. I am not trying to be cruel...I am just stating a fact.

You have been advised on how to meet people here. You can't just start a thread and say come talk to me. Well, you can but it is not a very good approach.

Starting posting on things. That is how people meet people here.

Keep your profile pic if you want. If you are engaging people will want to know about it. But the trick is, you need to get people engaged.

Not posting a photo is a terrible idea.

Awful.

The worst.

I have never heard of a worse idea in my whole entire lifetime.

How about the Space Shovel?

The russians had to have their Space Shovel, so we had to have one too.

arrh, I remeber many years ago, spotting across a night school class a cute young woman, curely blond hair, delihful breasts; she smiled at me. Hummm, we married some years later, had 3 charming sons, we had our ups and downs, far from ideal relationship, may she rest in peace. Look I wouldn't have bothered to have spoken with her if I hadn't kinda "seen" her. Don't post a picture. But Steve Martin's Man with two brains is fiction. Good luck. You'll need it.
