I used to write poetry. I have them in a dog eared notebook. I just thumbed through and found three associated with a woman's name. One I must have written after we had some sort of fight, and the second one a few pages later when we were trying to get back together. The third after we got back together

Winter
Do you believe in magic?
I did......once
When I heard sleigh bells
on Christmas Eve
I was fifteen
and the sky clear
now it leaves a taste
like stale beer in my mouth.

Spring
Two people picking up the pieces
of a winter's time
Kicking off it's leaden shoes
fondling the new grass with their toes
occasionally touching each other
backing off to stare
wondering what the other wanted.

Summer
Today
I catch your eye
and hold it to mine
in the park or street
I play for you
and you for me
as we turn the point
together
Swaying in the summer wind
watching clouds linger
smoke rings in the sky.

Meine Liebe an der See - by me.

Breit und sonnig ist die Himmel
die auf die glizernde See scheint.
Die Sandburgen in meinem geistigen Auge
wachsen immer grosser am Strand.

Es ist zu schön, zu wunderbar.
Wenn nur es ewig wäre.
Die Gefühlswallung spült über mich,
und tändelt mit sehnsüchtig Liebe.

Der Gedächtnis des Gefühl deiner Hand
klebt an mich
Wie der Sand der an mein Leib hängt.
Und ich reiche wieder nach deine Liebe.

Ich sehne nach dir.
Deine Name schmeckt süss in meinem Mund.

Oh? Did the rules say it had to be in English? My mistake.

Wow, I like that.

Like the dew on the mountains,
Like the foam on the river,
Like the bubble on the fountain,
Thou art gone, and forever".

Sir Walter Scott

same heartbreak, earlier date, different artist.....

TENDERLY, TENDERLY PLEASE TAKE MY BREATH FROM ME
INTO THE FOUNTAINS AND UP FROM THE GRAVE
TEARFULLY, JOYFULLY BURN WHAT IS LEFT OF ME
I DON'T WANT THESE BURDENS THAT HANDSOMELY WEIGH

YOU BE MY GUEST
AND I'LL LET YOU STAY
LEAVE ME THE CHECK
I'LL PAY WITH THE REST OF MY LIFE
TWIST THE KNIFE

CAREFULLY, QUIETLY YOU TOOK WHAT'S YOUNG FROM ME
I DIDN'T DESERVE IT I GAVE IT AWAY
COWARDLY, THOUGHTLESSLY YOU WALK AWAY FROM ME
AND I'LL TEAR MY HEART OUT TO SAVE YOU THE DAY

YOU BE MY GUEST
AND I'LL LET YOU STAY
LEAVE ME THE CHECK
I'LL PAY WITH THE REST OF MY LIFE
TWIST THE KNIFE

TENDERLY, TENDERLY PLEASE TAKE MY BREATH FROM ME
INTO THE FOUNTAINS AND UP FROM THE GRAVES

Neko Case.

Lyrics to Between The Bars :
(Elliott Smith)

Drink up, baby
Stay up all night
Things you could do
You won't but you might

The potential you'll be
You'll never see
Promises you'll only make
Drink up with me now
And forget all about
Pressure of days
Do what I say
And I'll make you okay
And drive them away
Images stuck in your head

People you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
That push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still

Drink up, baby
Look at the stars.
And I'll kiss you again
Between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there
With your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught

Drink up one more time
And I'll make you mine
And keep you apart
Deep in my heart
Separate from the rest
Where I like you the best
Keep the things you forgot

The people you've been before
That you don't want around anymore
That push and shove and won't bend to your will
I'll keep them still.
