So, as the title states..........Why would a man buy the cow, if the milk was free? and why would a women buy a pig if the sausage was free?

Why indeed? Why are we even talking about "buying" when the emphasis should be on sharing? Why is ownership even considered a valid metaphor for marriage?

In fact, why should we even have to get married to be in a stable, monogamous relationship?

What about poultry? You know, like chicken. Or goose.

I like a little goose from time to time, myself.

Shall we have robot maids raising our robot children too?

Not everyone has children, and not all of those that do are raising children their entire life.

In any case, we are already in motion toward fewer children raising in families consisting of two married, biological parents.

Plus, with increased female labor force participation - and an ideology of the feminist agenda that being burdened with child-care intrinsically disadvantages women - might the US approach the European norm around mandatory paid vacation, free institutionalized child-care, etc, further removing the economic and time resources customarily devoted to children, from the personal decision to have children?

We cling to a psychological attachment to permanent coupledom, but what is the rational one?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, except in the lingerie factory.
