In college I had the opportunity to run some social psychological experiments. Recently, I ran another one on a dating site.

Men, the rumor is that women read your profile and that looks are not the most important thing for a woman.

Wrong.

A lousy profile with a good looking, shirtless man with horrible grammar will get far more attention than a great profile with my picture. Men, we just have to accept this fact and deal with it.

I recommend that you get some professionally made photographs to help your profile stand out from the crowd. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

Better yet, get offline and get out and meet real women. It is easier to meet women in person than it is to meet women online.

I've never had a shirtless photo posted on an online profile. It would be an interesting experiment, though, to put one up and see what happens.

Ummm, isn't that you shirtless in your advice profile?

Though I suppose adding one to your dating site profiles couldn't hurt.

And just when you do that experiment in that short period of time, a smart, interesting, successful, beautiful woman with a killer body happens to come as one of your matches and automatically closes you just because of that pic, when otherwise she would have answered your request for communication.

This is not a situation where you can't lose

Actually...I was thinking of one of the dating sites other than eH. But yes...there are always risks.
