Match.com just went through an update the last few days. The emails are now more like eh's where you see the history, that is good.

The bad...and maybe it is just me, but now every time you send an email or respond to an email, after it confirms the email is sent, three additional profiles pop up, saying check these members out. There are tons of other search options on Match and to me it is not appropriate once you are at the emailing stage for the website to bring up three more women who are younger and more attractive with each and every email a guy sends to me. I just want to give up. Would anyone else find this discouraging or is it just me? As always, thanks for the great advice.

I met my ex on Match.com and used match long before coming to eHarmony. After coming to eHarmony I would never go back to Match. Even tried match's sister site Chemistry.com with no luck and certainly wouldn't mess around with that again.

Match is just an entirely different kind of site. And the UI is pathetic.

When you use match you have to screen your own matches...
I want to meet someone but that doesn't mean I want to go through all of that work... sheesh...

Many people consider it appropriate to be emailing more than one person at a time. And...do you really think that all the other women there are younger and more attractive than you?

Well I have tried match and eh and honestly I got more dates out of match than I have out of EH. I haven't even gotten a phone call much less a date out of EH.

But match is a lot more work.

I don't send out a crazy number of e-mails on Match. That would be a lot of work.

I do like the fact that they have search options very much...& I also LIKE the fact that they show you those 3 similar matches or any little thing that they do to highlight a match.

Everyone is going to use the site differently. Hopefully, you will get an e-mail from someone that actually wrote to you for a reason.

I use match & eHarmony in the same exact fashion but like Match better because on eH I get on average about 1 match per day & if I am not interested then I really get none. If you exclude the matches that I get that are actually out of my mileage range then that number is really small.

It's an option, so uncheck it and the problem is solved. Why do you feel that you need two or more sites to find your perfect match? Are you a serial dater or worse?

Why should you only email one person at a time?

Quite frankly, the "here are some possible BETTER matches" sounds like a great idea to me.

Match has had that feature for a while I think.

I have had much, much better luck on Match than on eHa. My 3 month membership on eHa just ended and out of 251 'matches', none have made it to OC. Maybe its my location but many ( 200+?) seem to have been non paying members.
