I am really supposed to be asleep by now since I have an early morning meeting with a carpy client but I could not resist posting this...

I liked this guy, cp since the tipsy thread. I liked that you were able to get a little mouthy with him and he took it well. I am thinking that may be good in a cp guy. lol!!! Plus, he did call to discuss the letter that you wrote so that is another plus for the man.

OK, so he was flakey. But who knows where he was at in being ready to date. I, for one, can't fault anyone for that since I was in the same boat. I think I have become more ready to date over the last eight months so maybe he has too? He did buy a house since then so I take it as a sign that he is "growing up" in life.

He called you after this much time so it means he still thinks about you. We won't know if he has evolved from his prior flakiness unless you go out with him again.

So my vote is that you take him out to dinner and see how it goes. At that point, the ball is in his court. Maybe he now is ready to really date and not be such a flake. If not, at least you gave it a shot.

And about Texas - maybe it took having an option for you to realize that Texas is where you want to be.

OK, I am off to bed. Wish me luck tomorrow that I don't put my foot in my mouth. I tell you, no client bugs me more than this one. Seriously, there are just some people that are never satisfied.

I will be looking for the next thread, "Ok, I went out with Tipsy guy!" lol!!!

Hey Lizzie,

Thanks for staying up late to answer my thread!

Also thanks for your good memory. I feel like I have some real friends here, and friends that know more about my personal life than people who think they reall "know" me! So I really appreciate your opinion.

One thing you said really rings true....he can handle me a little mouthy, and that might be good a cp man....

TRUE! I forgot this important fact. I can't believe the two most opposite guys I've dated this year. Mr. Sensitive Liberal Foreign Professor Pot Smoking guy and Mr. Test Pilot Giant Pick Up Truck Texas Conservative Guy. Oh how fun it would be to see them fight over me, it would be so funny. Total opposites. I could die after that.

BUT. This reminds me that Mr. Sensitive Professor guy thought I was too judgemental and a big meanie for not fully accepting his drug habit. And he cried, more than once. Because I'm mean.

Mr. Giant Pick Up Truck liked that I have a sense of humor and that I don't ruffle easily. We were on the phone yesterday and I remembered something unique about him off the top of my head. And he was like oh, good memory. I said yeah, well I didn't remember your phone number, if I had I wouldn't have answered the phone. He laughed and affectionataley stated "that's the CP I remember..." Sensitive man would have probably cried and hung up on me.

I recall now it was a phone call in fact, an out of the blue phone call from sensitive man, I wasn't happy enough to hear from him and that was shortly before we broke up. He took everything personally.

So you are right to pick up on that, and point that out. Thanks! I hadn't even thought of it.....but it's so true. I'm kind of mean and I need a strong man, who does not take things personally and realizes (most) of my insults come from a good place in my heart. I was kind of mean to pick up truck guy too, when he got lost coming to my house (for the third time). I guess I do need to try to be nicer....lol.

Well, anyway, still processing what is going on in my life at the moment and I'm confused myself at how I did a bit of a switcheroo.

I don't really want to leave anymore, even though I was so sure I did. It really has nothing to do with him, as, I thought he was the bank calling me about a condo, so obviously I was already putting both feet back in Texas at that moment. But I am still trying to figure out my own brain. Maybe I was just a little homesick for a minute, and the trip cured it.....especially the interview.

I'll keep ya posted! darn, now I have to wait for him to call me again. I didn't ask for this....

What do you mean you have to wait for him to call? You are the one taking him to dinner - call him already!!!

And I love the comment, "That is the cp I know". See, I like this guy!!!

and no lizzie. I still don't call boys, especially one's I "owe" dinner to. Though I might text him....in a week.

So how did the conversation end? Does he know that you would be interested in him calling again??

And I am going to skip the not calling a boy comment but I have to ask - why is it OK to text but not call???

yeah, I said I was happy to hear from him and looked forward to hearing from him again. Before I said that though, he said he was going to email me a link to something (I've heard that ol' trick before...this ain't my first rodeo....lol). He didn't say when but he said keep in touch, etc. It occurs to me he might feel better if I contact him next as he probably isn't sure how I feel about him, but, he isn't really lacking in confidence and I was pretty nice to him and expressed interest in getting together.

As for the comment about not calling (which you didn't ignore well, I'll give him a chance to give me a call on his own. Who knows, by next week I might be saying I'm moving to St. Louis. I am still a little torn.

Anyway, to me, texting is less intrusive. I don't like to cold call people.

I think I have learned/decided one of my main motivations to move is my intense dislike of some of my close coworkers and an uncertainty when it comes to advancement in my career here. I do have some beefs with Texas too, but it is minor in comparsion.

I would prefer not to start all over again and might just trade in one set of icky coworkers for another...atleast I have adjusted to this set and am not "new" anymore.

And apparently I can start recycling my dates from lat year.....lol.

Are you having system issues like me? This is the fourth time I have had to log in to try to post.

Anyhoo, I can see the appeal of starting fresh somewhere. But the thing is, like you said, you are probably just going to run into other annoying people at the new job and then you will have to re-balance everything all over again. But yes, I can see the appeal.

Sometimes I wish I could do that. I am pretty much at the place that I will work until I retire. I don't see myself leaving and I have basically come to an understanding with my company that I will take care of them if they take care of me. I have hit the ceiling, there really is nowhere else to go since I do not own the place but they have agreed that monetarily it won't be an issue and I am sure they will just change my title a few times over the years to make it feel like the ceiling has been moved. lol!!

That is good that you showed you were interested in truck guy. But I would text (or call ) him if you have not heard from him. You can just say, Ok - dinner on me Saturday night. Leave early enough to accommodate your directionally challenged self. lol!

And yes, it is good to recycle!!! lol!! (Loved that line!)

I have never called back an xgf, once it's over it's over I guess. If I don't recall why it ended, all I need to know is it did end so must have been a good reason. Guess it would test the old theory, second time around is better but I have never tempted that with a relationship. Besides, all my relationships have only gotten better and more complete then the last. Is the current one I am in the best so far, YES, and only time will tell where we go from this point.
