Okay, maybe I am fooling myself. I guess I am just disappointed. We had a fabulous first date. I went over to his friend's house after we met for dinner. Conversation was easy and fun. Everything went great. He paid for everything. His friends seemed to like me. I am very intuitive so I am pretty wise when it comes to vibes and hints from other people. It was a great date. He was extremely respectful and kind. We did kiss, etc. One week later, no call. I couldn't help myself, but I texted him two days ago to see how his week went, no reply. I guess I would like to believe he was into me from my impression of our first date, but perhaps he is not. Any other familiar scenarios?

Hi there are a million similar scenarios on here. He may have just been polite and he is likely dating others.

my first thought was "his friends?"

When I “pay for everything,” and that is the definition of “great,” I lose interest too.

Let me first preface by saying I am sorry this happened to you.

But...I am curious when you say " We did kiss, etc".

What is the "etc"? Was intimacy involved? I only ask because one has to be wary of serial daters that come off real trusting and likeable. They will 'wine & dine' you...have you meet their friends and seem very "respectful and kind".

Sometimes this is a ploy to get you in a trusting mood...and then when the smoke clears he is nowhere to be found.

Also, I would avoid meeting friends and/or family on a first date, That is usually a recipe for disaster because way too many opinions get thrown around and if he is close to his friends, any little negative thing they say can effect how he feels about you.

BTW: Welcome to the boards!

Honey, he's gone, it's over, gone cold. Finito.

And what a close call you had. He bought his friend with him on a first date! A second date might include his mom / boss / accountant who knows? This is one of them dates that got away. Count yourself lucky.

I am sorry this happened to you. Do not call this man. I would just go ahead and write it off.

I agree with the people who say write it off.

I will add that it may not have anything to do with you. You can have a great date with someone but many people meet more than one person in short periods of time. Perhaps there was another meeting and he simply made a choice.

I know that doesn't help your disappointment but know that there are other people out there...
