This is a big pet peeve of mine.

If someone says they will call you and you don't hear from them, are you not allowed to be upset?

Also, if you discuss doing something say within 2days, ex: go to the shore, or somewhere, and you don't hear from them at all, what gives? waiting around for them to call?

Now don't get me wrong, not like I have every minute of my life planned. But if am going to do planning, maybe two days or even 1 day advance, or is that too realistic?

I am one, if I say I will call you back, I will. If I am discussing plans on getting together, I am assuming we are making plans.

Does anyone not talk on the phone anymore, everyone texts.... omg
so many ways to misread......

I happen to be one who calls when I say I will and I pretty much expect others to do the same. But things do happenand people do miss things once in a while. I treat it like baseball - three strikes and they're out. Period.

You're not wrong. I've experienced my fair share of dates that never materialized... guys who made plans with me, then mysteriously disappeared the night before the date. No one deserves to be left hanging or to be someone's last minute back-up plan. What happened to manners?

You're certainly entitled to your feelings, but do know that there are people out there that have things come up that interfere with good intentions. If I tell someone, I'm going to call them back, I will...Now, when is a completely different story. Could be two hours later or two days. Life can get really crazy fast, and you loose track of time. It doesn't mean the person has stopped caring or has made another person a low priority. Being one of those people who do not live life by a stopwatch, I can tell you I'm very irritating to someone who does. So, I always announce that flaw of mine upfront. Since people are unlikely to change, I would suggest that you stop letting people who don't do things in a timely manner upset you and just avoid them all together. It will make your life much more simple.

If someone says they will call at a certain time then you have the right to be upset. If a guy says "I will call you" then you have to be cognizant of guy time and girl time. Girl time means "tomorrow", guy time means about two weeks later.

Very true. When the guy I'm seeing didn't call for 9 days after our 2nd date, I wrote him off as poofing. Then he called and asked me out. Whatever, maybe he changed his mind. When I mentioned thinking he wasn't interested, he looked very confused. To him, 9 days later was normal. For me tomorrow is normal.

i am surrounded by flakes when it comes to scheduling. people who can't say more than 30 minutes ahead of time what they're gonna do. this includes my mother. i think it's some sort of congenital problem.

Why is that I wonder? Are guys trying to not seem too eager when they do that, have a busy life, or are they just not thinking about the girl? I'm busy, but I know when I'm seeing a guy, I think about him every day, even though I don't call every day.

Oh I completely hear you! You know, I'm not the most organized person in the world, but I require a little notice to plan things, especially since I'm a mom and need to line up babysitters, etc.
I have plans (I thought) with a guy this weekend and texted him last night to confirm, so far no response, even though earlier last night we were going back and forth with messages. Giving him till about 2 or so, otherwise I'm calling someone else.
Anyway, I kind of don't feel guilty about having a backup when dealing with Mr. Flaky here since I'm paying a babysitter, I want to make darn sure I don't end up getting stood up.
