How do you generally dress for a first date?

What was the date who most impressed you in terms of appearance wearing on your date?

I dress for the occasion. Most times, snazzy casual (a nice shirt with jeans and black shoes).

I generally don't put much emphasis on what my date wears. Sometimes we do discuss what we'll wear ahead of time... I never initiate this, and the women that do tend to be a little more into fashion. But I always, I always compliment her on looking nice. Even if her wardrobe is not going to make Project Runway, I'll compliment her on an individual item of clothing, jewelry, hairstyle, etc. I like it when women show they've made the effort to prepare for meeting me, but they don't need to get dressed up to do so.

For a first date I will wear dress slacks and sometimes a white dress shirt and other times a Polo shirt. Any place I would be going casual to dressy casual would be appropriate so I am fine either way.

The date that was dressed the nicest was wearing a dress. While there may not have been anything that was particular to that dress that made it special I liked the look. It fit her well, the colors were right, etc.

I'll likely wear something like a stylish pair of jeans (e.g. True Religion) and a polo shirt.

I can't even remember what dates that impressed me have worn. Maybe that tells you something.

I dress two ways for dates. First, I wear my suit after work. Starched shirt, tie, and cuff links. Other wise, shorts, starched shirt from the day before, and top siders.

I want the young lady in a skirt or dress. If she shows up in slacks or a pant suit, she can pay her own way. If I wanted to date someone in a pant suit or slacks, I would date a guy. See plenty of them at work.

I like to wear something appropriate for the weather and activity (shorts or jeans if it's sports related or nice pants or skirt if it's dinner or drinks).

Yes, to only be employed as a last resort on bad dates.
