When you are out on a great date and you are feeling really good about it, what is your favorite song to listen to? Or, which one comes to mind first?

It may or may not be romantic, but it has to be a tune that makes you feel happy about yourself, life in general and anything in particular.

Do tell us why, if you please, and quote your favorite part of the lyrics (if there are any), preferably in English .

If I am on a date (what a novel idea) I have the radio so low that it almost cannot be heard so as to not interfer with the conversation.

Right, what's a date? If I have anyone in the car, music is low and in the background. I've always liked "In the Mood" by the Glenn Miller Band. It sets an upbeat tone for the evening. For a happy mood, a song like "Na Buachailli Alainn" by Clannad. I don't understand a word they're singing, but it makes me feel happy. If it looks like it's going to be a bad evening, there's always "The End" by the Doors.

No laughing!

Right now I'm dating a guy that lives on a ranch. For our 2nd date (he made me dinner), I drove down 8 miles of dirt road in my convertible and was met by his 3 dogs (who adore me, by the way). Before dinner, he gave me tour of the property on his ATV. So I really love this song. No laughing!

Big Green Tractor
She had a shiny little Beamer with the rag top down,
Sittin' in the drive but she wouldn't get out,
The dogs were all barking and wagging around,
And I just laughed and said y'all get in.
She had on a new dress and she curled her hair,
She was looking too good not to go somewhere,
Said what you want to do baby I don't care,
We can go to the show we can stay out here,

And I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor,
We can go slow or make it go faster,
Down through the woods and out to the pasture,
Long as I'm with you it really don't matter,
Climb up in my lap and drive if you want to,
Girl you know you got me to hold on to,
We can go to town but baby if you'd rather,
I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor...

I've heard of the "Big Yellow Taxi" but not the "Big Green Tractor". Out of curiosity. Who wrote it and who plays it? At least you can understand the lyrics, which is more than I can say for some of the songs I like.

It's a Jason Aldean song and they seem to be playing it constantly on the radio right now. Obviously, it's country (ya think?) but I listen to just about everything.

My musical taste is extremely varied, so I can't understand lyrics half of the time, either!

Fun!

Mariah Carey's "Emotions." Why? Because it's so delightful!

Chorus:
You've got me feeling emotions
Deeper than I've ever dreamed of
You've got me feeling emotions
Higher than the heavens above

I feel good
I feel nice
I've never felt so satisfied
I'm in love
I'm alive
Intoxicated
Flying high
It feels like a dream
When you touch me tenderly
I don't know if it's real
But I like the way I feel
Inside

Chorus

In the morning when I rise
You are the first thing on my mind
And in the middle of the night
I feel your heartbeat next to mine
It feels like a dream
When you love me tenderly
I don't know if its real
But I like the way I feel inside

I would think its country. If it ever shows up on the Grand Old Opry Live at least I'll recognize it. I'll have to check out the local country radio station and see if they're playing it. My music tastes are pretty eclectic. Right now I'm contemplating if its worth spending the money to by a machine that will convert my cassettes to CD or MP3 format.

I'm not particular about listening to music while on dates....but a song that makes me feel good is 'Canta Corazon' by Alejandro Fernandez.
